These are what the patient may expect before, during and after treatments. So kindly take time to read and understand all of them for the patient's knowledge and convenience as well.

Does Acupuncture hurt?

At first it feels relative to a mosquito bite, but not as the same with an ant bite. Upon piercing through, the patient may feel a tingling sensation. That is the needle reaching the nerves or tendons on the muscles.

 

Some acu-points may feel a bit "heavy", where the patient may feel like his/her muscles are stiffenning. It is important for the patient to stay calm and relaxed for his/her muscles to relax as well.

What are some side effects of acupuncture?

1. A bruise sometimes occur where the needle was inserted.

This usually happens when blood vessels were pricked during treatment. However, when this happens, applying pressure on the spot with the thumb will help the pricked blood-vessel heal faster.

2. Soreness.

This happens in the same case of bruises on the acu point. This can be addressed in the same way as bruises.

3. Drowsiness or feeling sleepy.

When this happens, it is usually due to one or all of these following factors:

a. The patient is sleep-deprived and/or is under stress

b. The patient is hungry before and during the treatment

How many needles would it take per treatment?

The number of needles depend on the condition or ailment which needs treatment. In some cases, less is more where fewer needles provide the most effectiveness. However, the acupuncturist may use stronger points which may have a heavier feeling than usual acupuncture points. 

What are the benfits of acupuncture?

Acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system. It releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

How to get the most from acupuncture?

1. Do your intake ahead of time.

2. Wear lose and corfortable clothing.

3. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, illigal drugs and sugary foods or drinks before and after the treatment.

4. Stay warm.

5. Sleep well 

6. Eat light food before the session.

What to avoid after the acupuncture session?

1. Avoid wetting your body or taking a bath in 2-3 hours.

2. Do not drink alcohol, caffeneited drinks or food.

3. Avoid stressful situation.

4. Avoid strenous exercises.

How often should I go for acupuncture treatment?

It is advisable to have 1-2 sessions per week, continued for 3-4 weeks.  But the number of sessions really depend on the particular condition of every client and are always subject for assessment and diagnosis of the acupuncturist.

How much is each treatment?

The pricing assessment for acupuncture treatments are difficult to set in general terms due to the nature of treatments are on a case-to-case basis. In the same light, discount privileges are honored such as senior citizen discounts, people with disabilities (PWD) with 20% discount.
